Overindebtedness case due to online casino

Hello

I have a debt of approximately 150,000 € consisting mainly of mortgage debt on my apartment and the rest in consumer credit and some tax debts such as property taxes that have never been paid since 2023.

Thanks to the support of the Cresus association and a social worker, I had the courage for the first time in my life to do something brave by filing an over-indebtedness application with the Banque de France.

In complete transparency, I disclosed my gambling problem. At the same time, there was no way around it because my bank statements are full of deposits and withdrawals to online casinos.

Thank you to Cresus for taking me on quickly despite the waiting list. I’m told that the Banque de France, to reduce my debts, will ask me to sell my real estate property first due to the moratorium because I am a homeowner and not a tenant. My financial situation while unemployed also points in this direction because no repayment plan seems possible.

I feel so alone and sad, plus the fear of losing my home. Are there people like me?
